New Desk with Book Case

We were quite busy before the Chinese New Year. We actually wanted to hunt for a desk with multi-purpose function, which we want the desk to be used as a place to online, also can be used as a place for the kids to read and write. So we went to Ikea a day before Chinese New Year eve. After sent off Yan Yan to school, hubby and I brought along Heng Heng to Ikea. We have less than 2 hours to shop where we need to be back to pick up Yan Yan from her school. I thought we might get empty handed with so little time at Ikea. But I was wrong...


We bought this desk with book case, it is walnut brown in color, just best matching our study room's cabinet.

Upon check out, we saw some bonsai near the cashier counter. Grab one pot and paid. The cashier gave us 2 packs of Ikea 'red' packets. They are printed with cute tiger, we asked for more packs and she gave us another 2 packs. Far far away came to Mutiara Damansara and how can I resist not to shop at my favorite Brands Outlet . Too little time for me, I went in Brands Outlet with Heng Heng and spotted a cute Dora coverall bib for Yan Yan. She has been using those BB bibs that are more suitable for new born, hehe. Heng Heng choose one for himself too, a bib full with letters and animals.

We left at about 11.15am and since it was still early to pick up Yan Yan, we went to Hong Leong BAnk in OUG to collects mandarin oranges and red packets. At this time Heng Heng already doze off in the car wearing his new bought bib :P

Reached Yan Yan's school on time to pick her up and went to Sri Petaling to buy paint, for painting our gate.

We went home and take rest, could not imagine that we actually hanging out 6 hours from 8am to 2pm. Dammmm tired. Hubby pula need to fix and assembly the desk and some more he need to paint the gate. Something not so good happen. We found one of the book case's part was broken. I called Ikea customer service to check if we can get to change a new one. They answer YES and they have stock so I retour back to Ikea alone in the evening.

I got to change it fast otherwise we couldn't assembly the desk and how eh? Lucky things went smooth, I got a friendly Ikea staff to attend me. But the changing process took more than 30 minutes. I went to Popular while waiting the staff to call me. She called me once the broken part ( actually is the side wood of the book case ) is ready to be replaced. More than 15 packs of Ikea 'red' packets :P

Went home happily with so many pack of 'red packets' and the book case replacement part. Hubby was busy assembly the desk and book case. he also painted the gate till mid night.

Guess what? We went to Ikea again on 6th day of CNY. Two kids were tagging along. Had our lunch at Ikea restaurant. Ta Pao Dunkin Donuts for the kids.

Heng Heng make a crazy fuss after we finish the meal. He wanted to get down from the trolley and was rejected by me, hence we cried out to the top of his lungs. It was the time we were at the decoration department near market hall with so many fragile things around like vases, frames and pots, how I dare to let him came down and walk??? My stubborn son, when he wants mean wants, no one can stop him. No choice but to let him came down from the trolley After get down from the trolley ( I actually carried him came down only after some walking further and which we were far from the decoration department already, more safe ) . This means he gets freedom only at the self serve area. But he still keep crying and making fuss there. He wanted to GO BACK to the place where he wanted to get down earlier on which is at the market place with lots of fragile things. Most probably he saw something that is interested. Haih, he keep crying and leading my hand hoping to find back the way back to the market place. I just followed him at the same time trying pujuk pujuk him. He is that stubborn...

End up I found a baby trolley that Heng Heng was fascinated in it. I put him in that baby trolley and the fussy episode has came to the end...

We bought another pot of bonsai and a pot of plant, some sort of ginseng plant.
